Birrlink: Payment Gateway Website
An NBE-licensed payment orchestration platform connecting Ethiopian merchants to mobile wallets, bank apps, and QR rails through one API.
BirrLink is a payment gateway operator licensed by the National Bank of Ethiopia. It connects merchants to the country's payment ecosystem — including telebirr, M-PESA, E-Birr, and major bank apps — through a single REST API, hosted checkout, payment links, and dynamic QR payments. Developers get scoped sandbox keys, idempotent payment creation, signed webhooks with normalized lifecycle states, and a merchant dashboard that centralizes collections, settlement, and reconciliation.
Ethiopian businesses had to build and maintain separate integrations for every bank, wallet, and QR provider, slowing the adoption of digital payments.
Built a payment orchestration layer that normalizes providers behind one API — with hosted checkout, payment links, QR payments, sandbox tooling, and signed webhooks for reliable integration.
